Yard signs may be posted in front of the home. They must be of professional quality. The Association may remove a sign displayed in violation of the foregoing.
Sale and Lease
Signs may be posted in front of an Owner's home for the-entire period that the Owner is soliciting buyers or lessees.
Open House and Garage/Estate Sale
Signs may be posted at the following locations during the hours that the event is in progress:
a. Royal Lane entrance to Oak Tree Village
(Place sign at OTV entrance. It is a city violation to place it on the median.)
b. Entrance to the homeowner's cul-de-sac
c. In front of the home
Garage Sales require a
city permit. Currently there is a limit of two (2) garage sales at a premise during any 12-month period. Each sale may not exceed three (3) consecutive days in length. If you live on a cul-de-sac with limited parking, we recommend that advise buyers they may park along Oak Stream Drive.
Political
Political signs are allowed but only to the extent authorized by Section 202.009 of the Texas Property Code.
a. Signs must be ground mounted
b. One (1) sign is allowed for each candidate or ballot item.
c. Placement on or after the 90th day before the date of the election
d. Removal by the 10th day after the election
No political sign is allowed that:
(1) Contains roofing material, siding, paving mate1ials, flora, one or more balloons or lights, or any other similar building, landscaping, or nonstandard decorative component;
(2) Is attached in any way to plant material, a traffic control device, a light, a trailer, a vehicle, or any other existing structure or object;
(3) Includes the painting of architectural surfaces;
(4) Threatens the public health or safety;
(5) Is larger than four feet by six feet;
(6) Violates a law;
(7) Contains language, graphics, or any display that would be offensive to the ordinary person; or
(8) Is accompanied by music or other sounds or by streamers or is otherwise distracting to motorists.
Religious
Adopted by Oak Tree Village Homeowners Association Board of Directors 03/14/2022
A property owner or resident may display or attach one or more religious items on their property or dwelling. Such items include anything related to any faith that is motivated by the owner or resident's sincere religious belief or tradition.
To the extent allowed by the Texas state constitution and the United States constitution, any such displayed or affixed religious items:
a. May not threaten public health or safety;
b. May not violate a law other than a law prohibiting the display of religious speech;
c. May not contain language, graphics or any display that is patently offensive to a passerby fur reasons others than its religious content;
d. May not be installed on property owned or maintained by the Association;
e. May not violate any applicable building line, right-a-way, setback or easement;
f. May not be attached to a traffic control device, street lamp, fire hydrant. or utility sign, pole or fixture.
Approval from the Association is not required for displaying religious items in compliance with these guidelines.
As provided by Section 202.018 of the Texas Property Code, the Association may remove any items displayed in violation of these guidelines.
